Abstract :
Vehicle distance detection in traffic is one of the most important indicators of road accident prevention that all active cruise systems utilize with advanced radar technologies. Measuring distances using different metrics can be time consuming and costly. Therefore, investigating distance estimation methods can minimize the cost of manufacturing and assembling electronic and mechanical equipment. The approach considered in this study is to use image processing to estimate the distance of the vehicle in front of the camera, which can also be investigated. With the aim of allowing the driver to put his cellphone on his dashboard, he can estimate the distance to the car at any time and use the car's intelligent system for other controls. The research method used in this thesis is the use of fuzzy-neural systems and wavelet analysis, which together can identify images with high accuracy.
